    11 Holford Square

    Percy Circus

    London, England

    January 16, 1914

    My Dear Son,

…If you had not Cushing on your side, I believe you had the audience. You surely must feel proud of the reception you received from such an assembly and more than pleased the way Cushing treated you. His paper surely did not take very well for it was not mentioned in any of the papers. It looked like the fall of a would be great man. He must feel cheap that his paper never was mentioned. Well we read and reread, and want them back to read them again and send them around. I hope you have sent them broad cast and especially to Sedalia. I hope the cure on hydrocephalus will soon be forth coming. …

We are going to a bible class tonight. Dr. Campbell Morgan's. He is the best (an American of course) in London. The church is crowded. The church will hold two or three thousand. He is wonderful. It is a treat to hear him. You have to go early to get a seat.…

    Your loving Mother

We are anxious to see that picture so as we can see that dear face.
