  • 2023 SANS Written Board Review Virtual Course

    About The Event

     view AGENDA

The SANS Written Board Course prepares neurosurgery residents for the ABNS Primary Examination (commonly referred to as the Written Board Exam). Join us as we bring together pairs of expert faculty who will cover the breadth of all subspecialty and general neuro topics included on the Written Board Exam, in an engaging and participative manner for the attendees.

The program features lectures presented by faculty for each topic area, with integrated SANS questions which the participants engage with via live polling. Each question will then be discussed live by the faculty to ensure participants are able to not only identify the correct answer, but understand the logic behind the correct response.

    Learning Objectives

    • Describe the surgical and non-surgical management of tumors, vascular malformations, trauma, pain, and other pathological processes that affect the central nervous system (e.g., brain, hypophysis, and spinal cord), the peripheral nervous system (e.g., cranial, spinal, and peripheral nerves), the autonomic nervous system, the supporting structures of these systems (e.g., meninges, skull and skull base, and vertebral column), their vascular supply (e.g., intracranial, extracranial, and spinal vasculature), and their histopathology.
    • Discuss the use and interpretation of images associated with these conditions.
    • Discuss neurodegenerative processes and their management.
