In this blended interactive, virtual session Elon will discuss his team’s innovations and work on building a high-bandwidth interface to the brain with Dr. Alexander Khalessi, President of the CNS! The session will focus on the challenges of building and scaling brain-computer interfaces (BCI), Neuralink's innovative approaches to addressing these challenges for patients in need, and the future direction of this emerging field.
Neuralink's first product, called Telepathy, enables control of computers or phones—and through them almost any device—just by thinking. The initial users will be individuals with paralysis who have lost the use of their limbs. The PRIME Study is an ongoing US investigational device clinical trial in this patient group.
Neuralink is also working on an implant called Blindsight, aimed at restoring vision in patients who have lost sight in both eyes, which has just received "Breakthrough Device Designation" from the FDA.
