Abstract Award Consideration

Choose from many Award Opportunities:

American Brain Tumor Association Young Investigator Award
Description: Given to the best tumor-related paper submitted by a principal investigator who has completed residency and is within the first six years of training.
Requirements: Tumor Section Member , completed residency and within first six years of training


BrainLab Community Neurosurgery Award
Description: Given to a neurosurgeon practicing in a non-academic setting with the best abstract related to central nervous system tumors.
Requirements: Non-academic, Tumor Section member


CNS Resident Award
Description: Presented to the outstanding abstract submitted by a resident for presentation at the CNS Annual Meeting. A 1,500-word manuscript must accompany the 300-word abstract. In addition to submitting your abstract, you will need to upload a 1,500- word manuscript. Your Department Chairman must certify that the resident author had a significant role in the project. Please ask your Chairman to send a letter to CNS, 10 N. Martingale Road, Suite 190, Schaumburg, IL 60173 or fax it to 847.240.0804 for receipt by April 10, 2007.
Requirements: Resident, 1,500 word manuscript


CSNS Resident Award (Socioeconomic)
Description: Chosen by the Communications and Education Committees of the Council of State Neurosurgical Societies.
Requirements: Resident


CSNS Young Neurosurgeon Award (Socioeconomic)
Description: Chosen by the Communications and Education Committees of the Council of State Neurosurgical Societies.
Requirements: Neurosurgeons who are no more than five years out from completion of training are eligible for the award.


Galbraith Award (Resident Award - Section on Cerebrovascular Surgery)
Description: Given to the best resident paper addressing a topic of cerebrovascular surgery as judged by the JSCVS Committee responsible for the CNS Meeting Section Program.
Requirements: Resident Neurosurgeon


Integra Foundation Award (Tumors)
Description: Given to the best clinical research paper focusing on benign tumors of the central or peripheral nervous system
Requirements: Tumor Section Member


National Brain Tumor Foundation Mahaley Clinical Research Award (Section on Tumors)
Description: Given to resident, fellow or attending in neuro-oncology who presents the best clinical research paper in the field.
Requirements: Tumor Section Member


Preuss Award (Resident Award. Section on Tumors)
Description: Given to the best basic science tumor-related paper submitted by resident.
Requirements: Tumor Section Member


Ronald Tasker Award (Resident Award - Section on Pain)
Description: Given to the highest-ranked abstract submittted for the CNS Annual Meeting concerning pain research.
Requirements: Resident or neurosurgeon who is no more than six years out from completion of training.


Sherry Apple Resident Travel Scholarship
Description: The Sherry Apple Resident Travel Scholarship is granted yearly to an outstanding resident abstract accepted at the Congress of Neurological Surgeons Annual Meeting.  A $1000 stipend is given to cover travel expenses.
Requirements: Resident neurosurgeon


Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery Resident Award
Description: Given to the best resident paper addressing a topic of stereotactic and functional neurosurgery.
Requirements: Resident or Fellow


Synthes Award for Resident Research on Brain and Craniofacial Injury
Description: Selected by the Section on Neurotrauma and Critical Care.
Requirements: Resident or Fellow


Synthes Award for Resident Research on Spinal Cord and Spinal Column Injury
Description: Selected by the Section on Neurotrauma and Critical Care.
Requirements: Resident or Fellow


Synthes Skull Base Surgery Award
Description: Given to an attending neurosurgeon, resident or fellow within the Tumor Section who submits the best abstract related to skull base surgery.
Requirements: Tumor Section Member, Resident, Fellow or Attending Neurosurgeon
